Overvicissitudesof centuries,thesplendid strongholdhadlong since vanished into history. However, the echoesof ancient battlefields have been lingering as if it never ceased.
一片孤城萬(wàn)仞山,這里是甘肅省白銀市景泰縣。
Beneath the towering mountains, a solitary citystands. Such is thesettingof Jingtai County in Baiyin City, Gansu Province.
一座叫“永泰”的軍事要塞于明朝興建,,“永泰”寓意“永絕虜念,,康泰安寧”。
Here, a militaryfortress was constructed during the Ming Dynasty,named"Yongtai", echoing the ancient wish to banish the barbarians and to ensure enduring tranquility and prosperity.
因城池形狀似烏龜,,又稱“永泰龜城”,,背靠壽鹿山,永泰古城是這一地區(qū)的重要門戶,。
In the light of its turtle-shaped layout, the fortress was also dubbed the "Yongtai TurtleCity".Backagainst the Shoulu Mountain,theYongtai AncientCitystood as a vital gateway to this region.

Here we can see the walls of rammed earth, barbicans and cannon platforms.
古城蟄伏于戈壁之中,,絲綢之路上,,固守河西走廊的安寧。
